What has been your experience as an international student like? (If applicable)

I have loved being able to get the flavor of the countries of different countries.  My home has been changing every few years for all of my life and although transition is always tough, I have enjoyed the opportunities I have gotten from being a global citizen.

What are your favorite thing(s) about Andover?

My favorite thing about Andover are my peers.  I always try to meet as many of the students here because it is a truly special group of people.  I not only learn from them in class but also in my extracurricular activities and in the dorm.

How does Andover compare to your home?

Andover fosters a busy environment where each person is occupied with numerous things to check off a to-do list.  At times, it is an extremely overwhelming place, which is basically the opposite of my home.  Being able to go home during breaks balances my life a little and always provides time to reflect and reset.

Briefly talk about an interesting experience you had while visiting another part of the world (if applicable).

When I went to Thailand with my family a few years ago my family decided to go on the neighboring island day trip that the hotel resort was hosting.  No one knew that a huge storm was coming so we went on the boat that took us to an island around 1 hour away.  The weather quickly began to get aggressive while we were on this island and the staff hurriedly told everyone to get on one of the boats to go back to the mainland.  On the boat ride back, there was a lot of water getting into the boat because the wind was so strong and it was one of the scariest rides of my life.  Once we got to the dock, these kids started running to reach land in front of my family and they made the floating dock so wobbly that I fell off it and into the ocean.  Luckily, I could swim so it wasn’t too bad but it was definitely a wild experience.
