What languages can you speak?
Georgian, Russian, and English
What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?
On campus, I am on the board of Andover Moviemakers Club and iClub (two of the most amazing clubs on campus), and The Gorilla-Andover’s satire blog. I love taking photos, hanging out on sets and blasting music at 1AM.
What has been your experience as an international student like? (If applicable)
Being international was extremely rooted in me, as I come from a completely different culture. Transitioning from Georgian, concentrated community to Andover was hard, not gonna lie about it, but iClub, students, faculty and people in general greeted me with love and warmth, which really helped me go through my upper year.
What are your favorite thing(s) about Andover?
I guess my favorite thing would be sitting on a table with representatives of 10 different countries and having thousands of things in common and even more things different, but still being able to feel comfortable with each other.
How does Andover compare to your home?
I honestly can’t compare Andover to my home, those are sooo different from each other that I simply can’t find even smallest things in common. However, I get to enjoy the best of both worlds, so I have nothing to complain about.
Briefly talk about an interesting experience you had while visiting another part of the world (if applicable).
From Andover’s Learning in the World program, I got the opportunity to visit Morocco with my friends and I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences of my life. Being exposed to different cultures (Berbers, French Moroccans, Moroccans Arabs) and witnessing the harmony with which they lived together was amazing and more than worth the 14-hour flight! Fun fact: my profile photo was taken in Morocco!
