What extracurricular activities are you involved in on campus?

GSA, Word (spoken word poetry), DREAM (disability rights), Band, The Courant (lit mag)

What has been your experience as an international student like? (If applicable)

Being an international student helped me like my country a lot more than I did when I first arrived. Coming in, I had a lot of problems with Korea’s leading views on equity, edu, etc. But I also didn’t fully understand them. Me being an international student, people here would ask me what does Korea think about so and so. In trying to answer a lot these types of questions, I was pushed to learn more about my country, and realized its not all that bad!

What are your favorite thing(s) about Andover?

Opportunities. You can basically do anything you need to, to get to where you want to be.

How does Andover compare to your home?

If we’re comparing the powers that be, PA admin is a lot more on top of social equity than the Korean government. There’s a lot of diversity, too.

Briefly talk about an interesting experience you had while visiting another part of the world (if applicable).

This past summer I visited Sumba, a small island in Indonesia. I was there to distribute prenatal vitamins. We connected with the kids who live at the compound we stayed at, and while I didn’t know when I was there, they all had Facebook accounts. When I landed back in Bali, I found 10 friend requests from them and we still keep in touch!
