How does Andover compare to your home?
Andover is very different from home in terms of food, academics, and student culture. Before coming to Andover, I was used to eating Japanese food every day that my parents make for me. I can still recall an ordinary breakfast when I was in Japan: miso soup, baked salmon, and rice. However, the breakfast here is very different; I was not used to eating sweet things in the morning including pancakes, french toasts, etc. This was a major challenge for me. Also, coming to Andover as an international student means you are less likely to be speaking in your mother tongue; this was also a challenge for me.
