      What languages can you speak?

I speak English and am learning Spanish at Andover.

What extracurricular activities are you involved with on campus?

I played JV Volleyball in the fall and Squash in the winter, and play for the Varsity Tennis team in the spring. I am also a member of the PA Health Club and volunteer at an elderly nursing home on the weekends.

What are your favorite thing(s) on campus?

My favorite thing on campus is the amount of support students (and faculty) have for one another. Whether it be a big history paper or a soccer game on the weekend, you are guaranteed to have a ton of people cheering and looking out for you. There is so much spirit and determination in the Andover community which gives the campus an amazing vibe.

How does Andover compare to your home?

One of the greatest differences between Andover and my home is the weather. In Singapore, it is hot all year round with the exception of the monsoon season. At Andover, I got to experience my first fall, winter AND spring, which was a really nice change from the heat. Also, I was a day student back home, so the boarding experience is something that I had to get used to. I love being surrounded by my friends on the weekends and having quiet study spaces during the week.

Briefly talk about an interesting experience you had while visiting another part of the world (if applicable).

One interesting experience I had was a few summers ago when my family visited Austria. We went ice caving in Eisriesenwelt, the biggest ice cave in the world. Even though it was 42km long, only the first kilometer, the area which tourists were allowed to visit, was covered in ice. The rest of the cave was formed by limestone. This was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for me, and the feeling of walking inside the cave is something that I will never forget. The views from the top of the cave were also stunning.
